Friday, 6:02 pm No good news on the horizon
A later conversation with Bolormaa today elicited the opinion from her that 7 days is probably a bit hopeful and the radiator repair will probably take longer. Sigh! On top of that we were unable to finish up our negotiations to get me paid, so I don't have the money to go to the Gobi Hotel to clean up. Double sigh!

Yikes! Can you make do with bottled water shampoos and sponge baths? Not good news. What's the problem with getting your pay?
ReplyDeleteSeveral complications, but the easiest to explain is that I went over to the school accountant's office this afternoon with someone from our department and after I got there I was asked for my bank card, apparently so they could put money into my account, but no one told me to bring my bank card, so I didn't have it. I had been told I was getting paid in togroks, so I thought that meant cash. Last year I was always paid in cash so I assumed that was how it was usually done. The accountant's office closes at 4pm every day and it was too late to return to my office and get the card and return, so I have to wait until Monday, since they won't be open over the weekend.

ReplyDeleteWhat about Western Union? Can you receive $$ from the States that way? I realize that still doesn't address the issue of your pay (or lack thereof) .... :(
